Kakariki
In Kakariki, Recessive pieds result in a more "pied" bird. In a Green or Cinnamon Recessive Pied, the bird will have lots of yellow, with random patches of Green or Cinnamon. In a Turquoise Recessive Pied, the bird will have lots of creamy white, with random patches of Turquoise or Cinnamon Turquoise. A Dominant Pied bird can have as few as a single pied feather on a wing or tail, or they may have several, or "patches". A Goldcheck is the combination of both Dominant and Recessive pied, and results in a bird that is fully Yellow (if Green series), or fully Cream (if Blue series), who will likely have a spot or two of their dominant color somewhere on them.

**As we are one of the few larger breeders of Kakariki, we often work with other breeders to expand bloodlines, and we keep impeccable records of who is related to whom. We do not inbreed, or line breed our birds! To help any fellow Kakariki breeders in picking potential future birds, the pairs that are labeled Matchmakers have no relation to anyone else here, or are related to no more than 1 other pairing here. Other relations are noted on each bird, to help you choose suitable pairings.**

All Kakariki babies are banded with our lightweight aluminum bands that contain valuable information such as our aviary name, the year they hatched, and the order they hatched within that year. Band numbers are written in multiple places on your records, as well as ours.

** Do not remove your bird's band. It is there to help serve as identification in the event your bird flies off and you need to claim them. Removal of their band also nullifies your Health Guarantee, as we can only be certain it's our bird if it wears our band. **
