These little birds have a reputation as a gentle and docile bird. They are very affectionate and often like to be petted and held, though they’re not necessarily fond of cuddling. Instead, they simply want to be near their owner and will be very happy to see you. You will also find Cockatiels to be playful and active. While they vocalize and whistle they are not as loud as some other parrots. The males are thought to be better at mimicking speech and whistles. Female cockatiels are quite good at mimicry, though. Either sex may pick up and repeat sounds from your house, including alarm clocks, phones, and even wild birds outside. Though they’re generally friendly, an untamed cockatiel can nip. This behaviour can be prevented at an early age by ignoring the bad behaviour. Never scold the bird because this can cause him to become too timid around people. They aim to please, so reward good behaviour and disregard the bad.

*Please Note on Deposits: Placing a Deposit does not immediately grant you a baby. Placing a deposit, along with filling out the Contract Request, reserves your place and date on the Reserve Lists. Babies are presented to families as they are available, in order of the date reserves are placed. Please also note that the photo is a representation, and does not reflect the ACTUAL baby you may pick!
Our babies are in high demand, and we breed only a limited number of birds at a time. As such, in the interest of being fair, we have a Reserve List system. Simply put, Babies are First-Come, First-Serve. We cannot hold a baby for any period of time without a deposit.
Your Reserve Deposit covers Baby's DNA sexing, ensures that Baby has a home waiting for them, and reserves the Baby until weaned. Remainder of Baby's fee is due upon pickup.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to hold babies until weaned. For species with multiple prices, this equates to 50% of the LOWEST price at the time of deposit. Should the baby chosen be of a higher dollar value, the difference will be paid at pick up. Deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferable.
