Lengths range from 4 to 18 inches to fit your cage and bird's needs. Each perch type and length comes with the appropriate hardware, with larger perches and platforms requiring more hardware for stability.
Our perches are crafted from untreated, chemical-free pine, ensuring safety for your birds. Hardware options include zinc or stainless steel, both offering moderate corrosion resistance.
Pre-order Only: Each perch is made to order, with limited in-store inventory. Fulfillment time can take up to 3 days, depending on order quantity, material availability, and scheduling. Custom Perch Designer
Prepare the Hardware:
- Find the hardware configuration (hanger bolt, 2 washers, and wing nut). Unscrew the wing nut and remove one of the washers. You will have the hanger bolt attached to the perch and one washer remaining.
Position the Perch:
- Place the perch inside the cage with the hanger bolt extending through the cage bars. The remaining washer should be on the inside of the cage, supporting the perch.
Secure the Perch:
- Place the second washer on the hanger bolt outside the cage.
- Screw the wing nut onto the hanger bolt on the outside of the cage.
- Tighten the wing nut until the perch is securely in place and does not wobble.
Standard Perches (Round, Flat, Squared):
- Position these perches anywhere in the cage, ideally at least 4 inches above the cage floor.
- Ensure there is 6-10 inches (or more) of space above the perch to allow your bird ample room to stand comfortably.
Platform Perches:
- Position platform perches in an optimal corner of the cage with enough room for your bird to stand and move around.
- Enhance the platform with items of interest such as a food dish, additional perches, toys, or other enrichment items to keep your bird engaged and happy.
